Head of Repairs and Maintenance

    • Be an active member of the Senior Management Team contributing to Council strategy and performance and budget targets.

    • Oversee the efficient allocation and deployment of all resources for and across responsive, programmed works, major contracts, minor capital works and specialist service business streams.

    • Provide flexibility with other business areas to ensure delivery of a highly responsive, efficient and effective service.

    • Constantly review organisational and process structures to continually improve business performance.

    • Encourage the development and implementation of a culture which promotes learning and drives performance improvement.

    • Provide significant contribution to the development of the business plan its regular review and the growth of the business.

    • Build effective relationships with operational colleagues, particularly the asset management and investment team ensuring an appropriate and meaningful level of challenge

    • Proven leadership in managing large-scale property repairs, maintenance, or capital projects. 

    • Strong expertise in performance and change management, with a track record of delivering improvements in complex environments. 

    • Comprehensive knowledge of compliance, health and safety, and regulatory frameworks. 

    • Outstanding stakeholder management skills, with the ability to navigate political dynamics and build trust with tenants, staff, and partners. 

    • Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) membership or equivalent qualifications are highly desirable
